WanTaiYuan was founded in the 10th year of Emperor Xianfeng's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1860). The founder, Fu Yuanneng, was born in Pan'an and came from a family of tribute tea. He was familiar with tea from an early age, and then went to Hangzhou Weng Longsheng Tea House to learn business, and also learned from the master of Longjing tribute tea.
